| Description: | SCARCE, in coordination with the Illinois Recycling Association (IRA), the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN) and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Development (DCEO) are working to finalize plans for a statewide Food Scrap Composting Seminar. The daylong event will feature a speaker from the US Composting Council and will provide information about food scrap collection and processing in Illinois. Specific information will include potential grant funding, collection and processing details and strategies, Illinois EPA permitting requirements and uses for and products from finished compost. This event is partially funding with a grant from DCEO. A yet-to-be-determined nominal registration cost will be charged, but registration will include lunch.
